The Mace CVT312 is a compact and inexpensive active video receiver. It converts the video signal coming over a UTP cable into a standard BNC signal for connection to conventional video equipment. Some of the key advantages UTP has over a BNC cable is a lower cost, less bulkiness and most importantly, the ability to transmit over longer distances without suffering signal attenuation. A UTP transmitter is also an obvious choice for use in buildings already wired for UTP. This particular receiver supports a maximum UTP cable distance of up to 1 mile (1.6 km).
